La Suite West Hotel, London | Anouska Hempel Design

Located on a quiet street north of London's Hyde Park, La Suite West is a recently completed minimalist boutique hotel, one of the latex creations of British designer Anouska Hempel and a member of Design Hotels.

A restricted palette of tones, clean lines and sculptural forms characterize the remodeled interior spaces and the beautifully landscaped private terrace outdoors.

Dark, individually crafted four-poster beds and black rubber chairs are set off by whitewashed rooms and marble bathrooms. Asian details, such as the thick, black, wood shutters in each room, add depth and a touch of Zen to the hotel’s design.

Description from Anouska Hempel Design:

In an 80 room, 'Suite' Hotel North of Hyde Park, Anouska Hempel has taken the discipline of an edited colour pallette, through a strict Architectural form to achieve a serene and balanced Eastern aesthetic. Mysterious, dark corridors twist and turn with unexpected surprises, a gloriously soaring atrium with an imposing 6m high door that effortlessly pivots, a monolithic white marble reception desk with a 7m unsupported length. Together with a front terrace garden sheltered by 34 Bosquet and pleached plane trees running the length of the six, 19th Century town houses that comprises the Hotel.
