Garrison Residence, NY | Janson Goldstein

This minimalist house in Putnam Valley, N.Y., recently featured in the NY Times (titled The Anti-McMansion), is the family home of designers Takaaki and Christina Kawabata.

Designed by Manhattan architecture and interior design firm Janson Goldstein where owner mr Kawabata works, the house is a true testament of simplicity. The open space of the 120sq.m. renovated house with the ultra minimalist aesthetic is actually working for a family of four, with two small children and of course, some kind of discipline. The wall-less one room space has no walls to define rooms, instead metal framed sliding semi transparent panels are used as dividers,
