La Scarpa shoe shop, Bulgaria | Elia Nedkov

Milan based architect Elia Nedkov designed La Scarpa shoe shop, a minimalist shop in the historical centre of Sofia, Bulgaria, with white shelves hanging from exposed concrete walls.

After stripping back old layers of paint and wallpapers, raw concrete combined with clean lines for the displays have been chosen for the interior of the shop, with white shelves hanging from the exposed concrete walls.

Description from architect Elia Nedkov:

La Scarpa
location: Sofia, Bulgaria
year: 2014

This shoe shop is located in an old building from 60s. I clearly wanted to keep the true and beautiful to me structure, revealed after complete stripping of the numerous layers created over the years.
Deliberate emphasis on architectural axes achieved through careful use of light applies depth to the perspective and generosity to the space. The minimal use of color and materials of the newly added elements delicately coexist with the raw, old structure of bare walls and concrete.
