House in L’Empordà, Spain | Francesc Rifé

Located in Foixà, Gerona, in rural Spain, an old traditional farmhouse has been renovated by architect Francesc Rifé with a minimalist, contemporary approach that respects its original architectural qualities.

Within the stone structure, large added windows that merge the exterior and interior and furniture by Jean Prouvé and Charlotte Perriand give the new character of the building. A new thatched, wavy canopy, installed over the porch, unifies the two parts of the house.
